Prof Peter Hunter

Head of Geriatric Medicine

Prof Peter Hunter is the Head of Unit of Geriatric Medicine and the Program Director of Home, Acute and Community (HAC) at Alfred Health. Peter is also the Clinical Lead of the Victorian Care of Older People Clinical Network in Safer Care Victoria.

Currently he maintains an active clinical role as a geriatrician and is responsible for leading a range of sub-acute and community services across Alfred Health. His interests include end of life care, frailty, the development of innovative and integrated care for older patients across the health system and safety and quality. He is heavily invested in improving patient experience and creating joy in the workplace. He is also focused on improving leadership skills across health and creating leadership opportunities for emerging leaders.

Peter was the inaugural President of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine.
