The Alfred Physician Education team, together with Monash Medical School, hosted a very special 'thank the volunteers' event on Thursday 2 March 2023.
During the past three years the department has had significant contribution from volunteers - both individuals and companies, who poured in their help to support medical staff. This included sewing masks and scrubs for physician trainees, providing zip lock bags for phones and artworks donated by local artists.
Lina, one of our valued volunteers, said that she felt grateful to provide her support. "I am very glad to help in this small way and am grateful for the opportunity to show my support to those who are risking so much to keep us all safe," said Lina.
During the event, the team also thanked the group of patients who have been actively participating in various education activities and clinical exam preparations over these challenging years. A/Prof Anne Powell, Director of Physician Education, said that the team was extremely grateful for their commitment and ongoing support. "Thanks for all that you do. Your willingness to give generously of your time and efforts is greatly appreciated, and your involvement makes such a difference in staff wellbeing and service provision," said Anne.
